Letter to my 17 year old self.

Hey Georgie, I know things are really hard right now, I know you’re scared, lost and hurting. I know that everything feels dark and you don’t remember a time when happiness came easily to you. But I have something incredible to tell you, so wipe your face and listen up. You have the most exciting life ahead of you. You will work through your shit, you go to University and you will be one of the first family members of your generation to receive a degree. I know friendships have been a sore point for you, I know you feel like you don’t fit in, but trust me in a few years those qualities that stop you from fitting in, make you stand out, they help you to be considered a leader in you field. You will find yourself surrounded by incredible women, mentors and friends. People that encourage you to do better and be better. You don’t need to change the person you are, but just keep your cards close to your chest so that the people who don’t get you, don’t hurt you. You meet the love of your life, get married, and you are happier and more content that you ever dreamed. And the twist? Turns out you’ve already met your soulmate but I can’t tell you who it is because it’s one the most beautiful surprises of your life and I want you to have that. But trust me, when you, you’ll know. Don’t waste time on anyone that’s not her. You create businesses, have multiple careers, make positive changes in the lives of hundreds of families, children and people. You get to coach, teach and support people of all walks of life, and each day brings a new adventure, opportunity and challenge. And this all happens in the next 10 years. So remember that even on the days that are harder than you think you can bear, it’s nothing compared to the joy, happiness and freedom you will feel in the future. Just don’t stop working and don’t stop hoping, that’s the key to everything.
